A morning thought…

AGING

I am an old-timer
but that does not mean
I am old-fashioned;
I am well-used
but that does not mean
I am of no use;
I am a bit worn down
but that does not make me
worn out;
my skin is wrinkled
but that does not mean
I do not know smooth
for what are wrinkles
if not a variant of smooth?
My mind runs
at a slower pace
but that does not mean
I can no longer get up to speed;
I might not be as sharp
as a tack
but that simply means
I am more well-rounded;
the pages of my past
have become dog-eared
but this old dog
can still learn new tricks;
judge me not
by my seniors moments,
judge me
by my golden moments.
